Munster Euro 2009 Campaign Team
Posted on March 13, 2009 by Alan Kelly
I have been up and running as the Labour Munster Euro candidate for some time now - many are saying that I went straight into it after our convention last July (but I can assure them I did take a short break). I am only the candidate though and very proud to represent my great party and I thought it was now time to give people an insight into my campaign team. We meet every week and I am always amazed by the volume of work that they all seem to get through.

Euro Campaign Kick Off
Posted on December 23, 2008 by Alan Kelly
My European Campaign has kicked off and I'm delighted with the reception I'm receiving.
I have always said that I would run the most professional campaign possible and hence the recent advertisements across the constituency and the extensive distribution of my leaflets detailing what I'm standing for and aiming to achieve for my party.
I believe Ireland's future is best guaranteed by playing a full part in Europe. Ireland's open economy is facing a massive challenge and it needs close friends and a ready market for its goods and services. Membershipe of the EU provides us with a huge internal market. The ongoing capacity of Ireland to create and sustain jobs is directly liked to our membership of the EU.

HSE Lacks Transparency: It is Time to Stand Up for Nenagh Hospital
Posted on December 20, 2008 by Alan Kelly
Nenagh Hospital as we know it is under threat.
The fact is that the HSE have over a year ago completed the infamous 'Teamwork' Report into acute services in the Mid West and they are still refusing to publish it. This beggars belief. They are refusing to publish a report that will decide the very future of how our hospitals work, yet they have put in place 'reconfiguration' teams to implement the recommendations of this as yet unpublished report.
There is no transparency in this and it is simply an exercise to stifle debate and push through Mary Harney and Brendan Drumm's ideologically driven policies and beliefs. This is certainly undemocratic and shows an attitude towards the public that leaves a lot to be desired.
