Funding for Six Tipperary Festivals

Funding has been allocated to six Festivals in Tipperary, Terryglass Arts Festival, Spleodar Festival in Nenagh, Feile Brian Boru in Ballina/Killaloe, Glen of Aherlow Festival, Rock of Cashel Festival and Clonmel Junction Festival.

Committees across the country work extremely hard organising festivals, and I'm sure the allocation of funding will be very welcome to all involved.

Local festivals are central to the Government's plans to develop the tourism industry. 2014 was a great success for Irish tourism and regional festivals and events across the country played a big part in that success.     The festivals sector has shown remarkable resilience over the last few years, which shows the resourcefulness and skills of the people and communities involved in the festivals sector.
