Paddy's Day

My Paddy's Day festivities actually kicked off on the 15th with the parade in Thurles on Sunday, which was enjoyed by all. I then attended parades on the 17th in Littleton, Templemore and Roscrea. They were all fantastic. It was a pity I could not get to the parades in Ballina/Killaloe or Borrisokane but you can't be everywhere.

The parades are great fun and they really bring out a community spirit. One of the key themes this year that was running through many of the floats was the success of Barack Obama in the US. I also have to say I really enjoyed the music of the Rischardson School of Music again this year. They have a shop near my office in Nenagh and they are so good at what they do.

Paddy's Day in Roscrea, which has the last parade for me always gives me a chance to meet some of my friends down there, particulaly the Shanahans, whom I again had a good chat with this year.
