Thurles Youth Service receives €15,000 in grant allocation

Local TD and Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Alan Kelly has confirmed that Thurles Regional Youth Service will receive €15,000 under the government’s Capital Grant Scheme for Play and Recreation. The aim for the area is to develop a central point for recreation for teenagers in. The money will go towards the renovation of a building in the town, development of a youth centre providing space and facilities for teenagers.

 

“Play and recreation are fundamentally important to children and young people for their development, creativity and wellbeing. I firmly believe this investment will be of major benefit to the Thurles community. It will provide the youth with a vibrant social and cultural hub that provides a fun, safe and inclusive environment” said Minister Kelly.
