National Lottery Grants for Projects which Focus on Culture, Play and Recreation

I am encouraging local community groups to apply for National Lottery grants for projects which focus on culture, play and recreation. The funds are administered by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, which offers a one-off grant to community groups and voluntary organisations involved in children and youth services. Money comes from the National Lottery Discretionary Fund, and involves grants of up to €15,000 for small-scale projects, with a total allocation of €500,000.

Priority is given to projects around culture, play, recreation, and vulnerable. ‘hard-to-reach’ children. It is aimed at projects which would not ordinarily be eligible under the other programmes operated by DCYA , its agencies or other Government Departments. Applications should be sent to Department of Children and Youth Affairs marked ‘National Lottery Grant’. The closing date for applications is Friday 18th October at 12.30pm. Application forms available at http://www.dcya.gov.ie/viewdoc.asp?DocID=1853.
