Good News for Templemore with the Recruitment of a further 100 recruits to the Garda College - Kelly

Local TD, Alan Kelly, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government says that that it is good news for Templemore with the arrival of a further 100 recruits in the Garda College, which makes a total of 300 recruits currently training in the college. 

 

Minister Kelly said "This is good news for Templemore particularly businesses in the area with the extra revenue in the town as well as the potential for tourism. The further arrival of recruits and the investment of €10 million for the Garda Fleet, demonstrates the ongoing commitment of this Government to supporting Garda Síochána in their efforts to keep our communities safe

 

 

“The new recruits will undergo an innovative new training programme for Gardai, which has been developed to reflect the current policing environment and will better prepare the recruits for the reality of life on our streets.  On conclusion of the two years training, the new Gardai will be awarded a BA in Applied Policing”.
