Kelly Welcomes 2014 Rural Water Programme Block Grant Allocations for North Tipperary County Council

Alan Kelly TD, Minister for Public & Commuter Transport has welcomed
the announcement by Minister Phil Hogan of the 2014 Rural Water
Programme Block Grant Allocations for North Tipperary County Council.
A total of €350,000 has been allocated, €100,000 for treatment
solutions and €250,000 for water conservation/network upgrades for
group water schemes. The maximum grant per house for new group water
schemes has increased by €1,000 to EURO 7,475. The government
continues to invest in water services under the 2014 Rural Water
Programme.
The allocations, which total almost €20 million, are provided under
Minister Hogan's Department's Rural Water Programme. This funding is
aimed mainly at the improvement of water quality in group water
schemes and upgrading and water conservation works in group water
scheme distribution networks. Funding is also being provided towards
group sewerage schemes. .
