Issued : Wednesday 18 January, 2012

Local Minister Alan Kelly has announced that the long awaited Congar/Ballyluskey re-alignment is to take place in 2012. The 2.2 kilometre stretch of road is listed in the 2012 Minor Works Scheme plan.

“This project has been on the list for schemes to be competed in 2012. It is an extremely popular stretch of road that carries a very heavy volume of traffic” stated the Minister.

“This is a project that I have been working on for some time and I have approached the Minister about the road a number of times. I am delighted that the funding has finally been put in place to progress this project”,  continued Minister Kelly

“A number of North Tipperary bridges are also to receive rehabilitation work due to funding allocated in my Department’s 2012 Capital Plan. These include: Turtulla Bridge, Killough Bridge, River Nore Bridge, Balyeiragh Bridge ,Drish River Bridge , River Suir Bridge” concluded the Minister.
